“I am Bhola. I wash dishes in a small eatery. Since the lockdown due to Covid, I have been out of work. Kisi tarah choolha jal raha tha. Ab toofaan aya aur humara ghar khatam kar gaya. Tarpaulin sheet ka sahara hai bachcha log ko chatt dene ke liye. Humko madad ki bohot zaroorat hai.”

“My husband passed away a year ago, leaving behind a kachcha ghar for our 5-year old son and me. First Covid, now Amphan has made the situation miserable for us. There is no food in our house and water has flooded my little abode. Please help us with food and shelter for our survival.”

All of us are safely tucked away in our houses to stay safe from the pandemic. We stayed inside our houses, our doors and windows locked when the super cyclone hit West Bengal and Odisha.
